Come and explore the hidden stories of the Perseverance Parcel. The forested area behind Japanese #1 town is a very integral part of the upcoming forest purchase. This beautiful forested areas flows into a floodplain forest and provides habitat for myriad species. Find our more about the cultural history, and ecological context of this special part of our community with guide Dawn Copeman. This tour leaves from the Japanese #1 Townsite parking lot at 10:30 am and finishes up by 12 noon. Tour by donation to the CCFS – suggested $10 (or sign on as a monthly donor!).

On Saturday September 22nd 11 am-4 pm its time to move out your old gear and find cool new stuff for a great price – all the while helping to raise funds to protect the forests surrounding Cumberland! BBQ, Kids Pump Track Challenge with Prizes, Beer, BBQ, UROC Membership Drive, DJ’s and more! Admission by donation and fun for the whole family!
How does it work? You gather up your outdoor gear (in good repair please) and bring it to Beaufort Cycles September 17-21st from 8 am till 5 pm or on September 22 8 am till 10 am. Fill out the Gear Swap donor card with all the details and desired price.

Join us for a special general meeting of the Cumberland Community Forest Society (CCFS) on Tuesday October 16th at 7 pm.
This mid year update has been called to:
- Update members and community on the outcome of the updated appraisal and timber valuation Perseverance Parcel (91.7 hectares) and the next steps towards closing on this purchase.
- To present and approve the updated Constitution and By Laws of the CCFS in order for our society to comply with changes to the Societies Act of BC. This is not a change in our mandate or activities but rather housekeeping required due to recent changes to the legislation.
Join us for the Perseverance Party in the Park in celebration of the annual Perseverance Trail Run! All welcome to cheer on runners and event organizers for this amazing annual run that raises funds for the CCFS. BBQ, beer garden , live music with classic country band Perseverance Creek, face painting for kids and a scavenger hunt for families! You don’t have to be in the run to be at the party! Everyone is welcome for this country dancing, hay-bale resting, apple bobbing, beer swilling hoe-down!
