Cumberland Community Forest Society

There are 1,000,000 uses for our forest. Help us preserve it.
The future of the forest is in your hands.

Over 150 Acres of Forest Preserved...

...but our work has only just begun. The Cumberland Community Forest Society, and their friends and supporters, have accomplished an amazing feat over the past 5 years. They have ensured the protection of over 150 acres of beautiful forest lands surrounding the Village of Cumberland.

New monthly donors are needed to meet monthly fundraising targets. Make monthly donations (pdf 190 Kb) of $10 or more towards the forest, or give a one-time donation (pdf 112 Kb). The CCFS now has charitable status, allowing us to give tax receipts for all donations over $10.

Successful Perseverance Creek Trail Run

Wednesday 19 December 2012

The CCFS has been very fortunate to receive $4000 from the Perseverance Creek Trail Run this year. The event was sold out (300 runners!) and all who participated had a lot of fun. There was a 3.5 k and a 10.5 k run. Many families participated by having the young ones in the 3.5 k run and one of the parents in the 10.5 k. Rain held off on race day and the Heritage Number 6 Minesite Park was a beautiful place to gather for pre- and post-race festivities. Many drinks and foods were served, including some burgers grilled by board members of the CCFS. We look forward to next year's race, and are deeply grateful for the hard work of the organizers and all the volunteers who make this event happen.
