Mountain Equipment Co-op's Envirofund
24 07 2007Our most exciting news of 2005 was of the $100,000 grant awarded to us by Mountain Equipment Co-op's Envirofund. Our strong community support and the high ecological values and sensitive habitat in the forest were the reasons our project was chosen that year. The grant allowed the CCFS to pay down the debt we acquired in purchasing the first parcel, and put an $18,000 deposit on the second parcel of the Cumberland Community Forest, total price: $365,000.
