The thirty day countdown has begun for the Cumberland Forest community. From now until March 31st we’re focusing all our energy on closing the final $150,000 gap to complete the $2,380,000 million Perseverance Creek project. This beautiful 226 acre forested area runs the length of Perseverance Creek from Allen Lake to Comox Lake Road and forms an important ecological corridor filled with animals, plant communities, trails and waterways.

We’ve received such an amazing boost with the $50,000 matching challenge offered by Adrienne Daniel and her family. They will match up to $50,000 raised between now and March 15th and we are well on our way! Supporters of the Cumberland Community Forest Society who would consider making a donation in 2020 are asked to consider doing it now and helping us close the deal and double the impact of their donation.

The Art of Perseverance Online auction, featuring awesome art and creative services from talented locals, and draw prizing for the upcoming Spring 2020 Trivia Event are two other ways you can contribute and help us reach our goals.
Be sure to hold the date for our March 29th Cumberland Forest – Community Walk + Run. This celebration of the Cumberland Forest community starts and finishes in Coal, Creek Historic Park. We’ll gather for a photos at 12:30 and then head off up Broncos Perseverance at 1 and loop back to the park for free chili and cornbread after. Everyone is welcome to the free event.
Join us over on facebook to stay up to speed on special events and campaigns that our friends are running to help us raise the final funds funds. It takes and Village (and a Valley) to buy a forest. We couldn’t do this without you.
