Perseverance Watershed

The Perseverance Watershed is a sub basin on the Comox Lake Watershed. It feeds the drinking water supply for over 45,000 residents of the Comox Valley through the Comox Valley Regional District water service. The Perseverance Watershed also directly provides 5000+ residents of Cumberland and Royston with drinking water through the Cumberland drinking water service.

With its headwaters in the Beaufort Mountains and fed by the waters of the surrounding streams and wetlands, the Watershed includes Cumberland Creek and Perseverance Creek. These creeks flow from mountains and upland forests, through private timber lands (Mosaic and Hancock Timber Group), the Cumberland Trail Network (access area), Cumberland Watershed and Park Lands, Cumberland Wetlands and ultimately into Comox Lake.

Fish species found in Perseverance Creek include Coho Salmon, Cutthroat Trout, Dolly Varden and sculpin species. The area is also home to a significant Western Toad Migration each summer.
