CCFS in the Victoria Day Parade!

We don’t know if you know this about us but…..the Cumberland Forest LOVES parades!!!!!!
It’s our favourite day of the year! We dig out the tickle trunk and dress up as magical creatures or forest critters! We’re toads and bats, forest fairies and wood nymphs, bears and dragons, bugs and beavers, marching bands and stilt walkers!! Or you can hold a paw, or carry a sign, or cheer us on!
Together we express our love and passion for the wild spaces that surround our community. All ages welcome, come as a family, parents/guardians can join the fun or dress up your kids and walk the edges for support ❤
This tradition started 25+ years ago with the Gumboot Fairies of the Cumberland Forest in the Victoria Day Parade. We’re so honoured to keep this tradition alive and see it grow and evolve.
We have 22 toad costumes for smaller kids and we teach a series of moves they can learn ❤ Message heather@cumberlandforest.com to sign up for toad patrol!
The Cumberland Forest “League of Wild Creatures” meets Monday May 20th at the Abbey Studio between 9 and 9:30 to costume up, pre parade bathroom, to hand out signs etc. and then he head out en masse to our starting position.
