Community Update Meeting

Curious about the finer details of the work of the CCFS? Join the CCFS at 7 pm on Monday Oct 24th for a casual community update on current projects and initiatives including:

• The Lower Perseverance Corridor purchase and its connection to Coal Beach, Comox Lake, parks management and future land use.
• The Perseverance Watershed Initiative where we turn our attention to the source of Cumberland’s drinking water and climate resilience.
• Stewardship Projects including the Western Toad Project, Cumberland Bat Project, Earth Week, Fungus Fest and Perseverance Streamkeepers
• Our Education and Outreach Initiative with local schools and nature education programs to address human impacts in the Cumberland Forest Park
• The ‘Forest in the Village’ initiative to help meet the Villages Urban Tree Strategy target of a 30% increase in urban tree canopy.

The CCFS is shifting our Annual General Meeting cycle back to the Spring (as per pre Covid) so this meeting is an opportunity for supporters, donors and community allies to get up to speed on our current efforts, ask questions and get excited about our land protection and stewardship activities. Tea and light refreshments will be provided.
