Spring 2014 has been pretty amazing in terms of community based fundraising! Jamie Moffat handed over a $1400 cheque raised through running her first marathon with all pledges to the Cumberland Forest! The Cumberland Elementary School raised over $3000 at their May Art Show and Auction and another $1000 at their Fun Fair event! These guys know how to pull off a fundraiser! Way to go guys!

The Cumberland United Church Sunday School kids have been hard at work as well raising over $600 through their fundraising events. Thanks also to Linda Oprica for passing along 1/2 of the proceeds from her moving sale ($600!)

Earth Day Celebrations back in April resulted in some fun events and great donations including over $250 from Tree Frog Music and Captain Thunderpant’s Earth Day Concert. Yarrow Willard from Harmonic Arts Botanical Dispensary gave a walking tour of plant life in the forest by donation and Tenzin King passed along over $100 for photo-card sales. Karen McKinnon and Boomer Jerritt also ran a photo workshop by donation in March and raised another $600 for the Forest. Just last week the Vanier Rotary Interac Club presented a $300 cheque raised through their fundraising events. It was an honour to be chosen by the students as a recipient of their hard work.

Thanks as well to everyone who supported our plant sales, t-shirt sales and trivia event as volunteers, donors and patrons! Finally to the anonymous donor who sent us $25,000. Thank you. You’re incredible!
