Rob H. Daniel, father of Cumberland resident Adrienne Daniel, passed away suddenly in April of 2018. As an avid runner, on pavement and trail, Rob loved to race. In his lifetime, he completed over a 100 trail races, multiple marathons, countless triathlons, and his proudest achievement the Penticton Ironman at the age of 63. He was a kind and gentle soul, who positively influenced the lives around him.
Rob was also a true conservationist at heart, who cared deeply about protecting our sacred forests. Cumberland Forest was a place he visited often with Adrienne and her family, and he vocally expressed interest in contributing to it’s preservation. In tribute, his family has honoured him as a Guardian of the Forest.
Adrienne and her family offered a $50,000 matching challenge in February of 2020 that inspired others to support the CCFS. The challenge was also to remind us of those we love, and those who have loved us, every time we walk, run, or ride in the beautiful forest that surrounds our community.
