Celebrate Earth Week with the Cumberland Forest and our friends from across the Valley, April 19-25th. Join us for online and real world events all focused on deepening our connection with the natural world and inspiring its protection AND restoration.
The global theme for Earth Day 2021 is “Restore the Earth”. What does that mean for Cumberland? The Cumberland Forest community has been hard at work for over 20 years protecting 500+ acres of forest, wetlands, creeks and watershed lands through direct purchasing from timber companies – and trust us, we’re not done yet!
But at the same time, we have important work to do to repair and restore the protected areas impacted by human use, build ecological knowledge and stewardship culture, protect sensitive ecosystems and species at risk and support biodiversity in our community, the Cumberland Forest Nature Park and the surrounding forests.
Join the Cumberland Forest community for a creative, informative and engaging week of projects, a Stewardship Action Auction, walks, trivia, webinars and fun filled community activities to celebrate Earth Week and the marvels of planet Earth!
Whether you live in the Village, the wider Comox Valley, the Salish Sea region or across the globe – you are invited to connect with the celebrations . Stay tuned for detailed events, ticket and registration links, and more.
Support the Stewardship Action Auction with donations of good or services by emailing info@cumberlandforest.com. 100% proceeds will support education, stewardship, and restoration initiatives in the Cumberland Forest.
