Villagers’ Winter Solstice

Join us for the Villagers’ Winter Solstice on Saturday December 21st. This free event welcomes all to #6 park to celebrate the sacred mystery and beauty of the still point of the year, the joy of community, and the return of the sun, which is celebrated by cultures across the Northern Hemisphere on this day.

The event is co-created by multiple organizations, creatives and volunteers from Cumberland and beyond! Costumes welcome! This is a participatory celebration.

Bring a hand held lantern for the forest walk (headlamps are blinding). Bring good shoes for the forest (Big Log can be slippery)
4:00- 4:15 – Fire Lighting with Fianna
4:15-5:00 – Lighting of candles, word, music, theatrics
5:00 – 5:30 – Sparkly forest walk, music and fire performance
5:30 – head off into the night ❤

*Please join us later that eve for a *ticketed event* at 7:30 pm (doors at 7) at Weird Church. This Solstice Cèilidh features music, stories, choirs, and youth theatre from: the Valley Edge Choir, Forest Stories Theatre, Kim Bannerman, Siarimis, Joanna Finch, Senyue and others ❤.
