The annual BC Bat count is a project of the BC Community Bat Program and the Cumberland Bat Project is jumping into action! As partners in the North Island Chapter of the BC Community Bat Program, the Cumberland Forest and the CV Land Trust & Conservation Partnership are looking for keen volunteers to participate in evening (dusk) bat counts at a variety of roost locations in Cumberland and surrounding areas June 1-30 and again July 11th to August 5th.
Volunteers are asked to be available for a minimum of 2 evenings in each window. The BC Bat Count is a fun way to connect with this amazing species in our midst and connect with other batty minded folks. Message heather@cumberlandforest.com to volunteer.
*If you think you might have bats living in your home or on your property, lucky you! We’d love to know – message Tim at northisland@bcbats.ca
