The 7th annual Cumberland Fungus Fest is just around the corner October 1st to 4th!
Cumberland’s Fungus Fest is an interdisciplinary festival of fungus and forest ecology. We explore fungus through myriad lenses – science, history, materials, psychology, plant medicine, food systems, death, art, mythology, wildcrafting, cultivation and more. This year we’re weaving our event around the theme of 🍄 micro/MACRO 🍄
The festival is presented by the Cumberland Community Forest Society, and 100% of proceeds from the festival supports our conservation and relationship building work in the region.
Thursday evening is a highly popular “Science Pub” event with fun, shorter presentations from a selection of early arrival presenters, on theme bar, music and more. Friday afternoon features guided walks, workshops and talks and an evening “Fungus Bazaar (art + craft + music event). Saturday and Sunday feature guided walks and talks, workshops and panels. Things wrap up on Sunday afternoon at 3.
The event is like a Fungus Fringe Festival – Fungus Fest Pass Holder get access to a ton of awesome programing – and passes get folks first in line to register for events with limited capacity!
